The Williamsburg Choral Guild Presents – “Music of the People – American Folkways”
to
Warhill High School 4615 Opportunity Way, Williamsburg, Virginia 23188
This fall, the Guild celebrates folk song traditions in the Americas in both sacred and secular music. Misa Criolla is a folk mass based on the rhythms and traditions of Hispanic America, while the arrangements of Dan Forrest (American Folk Tunes) and Aaron Copland (Old American Songs) pay tribute to our American musical heritage.
Join Artistic Director Jay BeVille, an orchestral ensemble, the chorus, professional soloists and pianists Jane Alcorn and Elaine Howell as they perform selections with ties to the “old land” but infused with the spirit of a new land – America. Pre-concert lecture at 3:00 p.m.
Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 ($10 for students) at the door
