Sunset Kayaking on the Potomac at Stratford Hall
to
Stratford Hall 483 Great House Rd., Stratford, Virginia 22558
See and experience historic Stratford cliffs from the Potomac River, and possibly glimpse a variety of birds and wildlife. A whole new perspective is gained from 50-100 feet offshore. The kayaking tour will be led by Denise and Bill Micks, retired school teachers who opened a Fredericksburg-based outdoor recreation and interpretive business in the early ‘70s.
This is a weather-dependent event, and pre-registration is required. If the event is cancelled, the make-up date will be June 25. Life vests (provided) will be worn by all participants and Stratford Hall release forms will be given out and must be signed prior to the event. The kayak trips are guided, and instructors will offer safety education before, during, and after the event. The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for kids 8-13.
To register for the kayaking event, please contact Jon Bachman at jbachman@stratfordhall.org or call 804-493-1972. The deadline for registering is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.
For over 40 years, the Micks have provided instructive canoe experiences for over 50 non-profits: scout groups, churches, Regional Governor’s schools, American Canoe Association events, local YMCAs, Regional Parks and Recreation Departments, and the Friends of the Rappahannock.
