FREE TO THE PUBLIC. Weather permitting, Stratford Hall is offering a fall late afternoon and evening sky adventure. Come join members of the Rappahannock Astronomy Club for a twilight and nighttime star gazing opportunity on the Oval.
Beginning at about 6:00 PM on the Oval in front of the Great House, the Rappahannock Astronomy Club (RAC) will offer informal discussion on the various types of telescopes and the basics of astronomy. Observations, and as darkness descends, star and planet gazing. The RAC is a non-profit organization located in the Fredericksburg Virginia, area that promotes astronomy and related space sciences as a hobby for people of all ages. RAC will set up a number of telescopes on the Oval.
The event starts at 6:30 pm with a 30-minute astronomy and telescope introduction. Viewing will begin about 8:00 pm. Bring your snacks and flashlights!
