A celebration for art and garden lovers. Enjoy a tablescape design contest, presentations, classes and demonstrations by landscape designers, horticulture and garden experts, southern lifestyle writers, and leaders from the art and floral design industries. Special guest Andrea Wulf will present "The Invention of Nature," and horticulture expert Carol Reese will show us how to use plants as artistic focal points.
Sculpture Artist Barbara Kobylinska will help you add unique and playful accents. Architect Noemie Lafauie-Dabney, Partner at Balmari Associates, will share public landscape experiences in New York, Rome, Canada and China in her topic: "A Landscape Never Happens Twice." Nancy Hugo and Lisa Ziegler will teach us how to grow and use flowers in creative ways.
Your ticket includes a tour of 10 private cottage gardens & 4 cottage kitchens in Historic Yorktown. Jim Orband will speak about shade gardening during the Yorktown Garden Tour. The "Trend Meets Tradition Celebration" will use Colonial Williamsburg wallpapers as inspiration for tablescape designs. Artwork by Merrilee Cleveland will lead a long list of vendors that offer opportunities to purchase flowers, nature-inspired jewelry, flower arranging supplies, garden furnishings and gardening gear.
Proceeds support public art projects in Williamsburg, James City County and York County.
