Rottin' Log Romp
to
Stratford Hall 483 Great House Rd., Stratford, Virginia 22558
Salamanders, termites, centipedes! What else thrives under a rotting log?
A simple log is a not just a habitat for critters, but a playground and place of discovery and imagination for young naturalists. The Rottin’ Log Romp at Stratford Hall connects kids – of all ages – to the natural world through a close up exploration of nature’s processes, both fascinating and vital. We’ll use decomposition and the soil cycle as a fun excuse to get our hands dirty and enjoy a unique adventure.
Join naturalist and educator Linda Bailey, Nature Education Coordinator for Fredericksburg Parks & Recreation, as she leads us on a journey through the underlog world of leaf litter and cool creatures in our nearby forest and fields.
Each participant will receive a bug box and magnifier. Snacks are provided.
