The month of June brings artist Juliet Ames' of The Broken Plate Pendant Company's stunning work to Quirks of Art. This Baltimore, MD crafter repurposes vintage plates into all manner of gorgeous artwork and jewelry pieces... including belt buckles, earrings, necklaces, cufflinks, and even china "brass" knuckles! (If you see something you like, let us know, and we'll put in a request for the collection.)
Juliet has received much acclaimed, she was a 2015 Martha Stewart Handmade nominee and has been featured in magazines such as Readymade, Real Simple, Smart Woman, Urbanite, Baltimore Magazine, Style and more. Her craft is incredibly rewarding, as she often transforms broken pieces of a shattered family dish or wedding plate into wearable heirlooms for a client’s family. Each piece is one of a kind... and no two are ever alike, so be sure to come and see the full collection as soon as we unveil it on June 10 (Mon-Sat, 10am-8pm & Sun, 12pm-6pm).
