As part of “A Diplomatic America” public lecture series at Jamestown Settlement, Buck Woodard will present “Anglo-Indian Relations in the Seventeenth Century” at 7 p.m., Thursday, September 6. Woodard, a cultural anthropologist at American University and former director of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation American Indian Initiative and Historic Jamestowne “Indigenous Chesapeake” program, will examine the cultural expectations, presentations and protocol of diplomacy among the Algonquian-speaking peoples of the Chesapeake during the time of English colonization of Virginia. Jamestown Settlement is located on Route 31 just southwest of Williamsburg, VA. Daytime admission, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, is $17.00 for adults and $8.00 for ages 6 through 12, and free for children under 6. A value-priced combination ticket to Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown is $25.50 for adults and $12.25 for ages 6-12.
