to
RAL Art Center 19 N. Main St., Kilmarnock, Virginia 22482
Opening Reception May 5, 5 - 7pm
Hidden in a Wharton Grove residence for close to a century was more than 20 hours of 16mm films and reel to reel audio tapes, an uncompleted movie that now serves as historical documentation of an era – life in the Northern Neck in the 1920s and 1930s. A national treasure has been found, and it is of great importance that we preserve and protect this rare footage of our past for future generations.
Follow along as we preserve and share more than 20 hours of newly discovered films made in the lower Northern Neck in the 1920s and 30s by James Wharton.
