The Evanses close the season with the play that later became the basis of the blockbuster musical Cabaret. It is a poignant drama of self-discovery in a time of chaos. With wit and charm the iconic Sally Bowles desperately searches for love and answers. Her friend, a fledgling writer, guides us through their escapades. He offers up the camera’s eye and puts their chaotic life in perspective. Set in 1930s Berlin, the landscape is complete with the frivolous behavior of an American playboy and the sad plight of the Jewish citizens.
