DOUG AND TERRAH HOGUE
When a Williamsburg couple with whom Prestige Cabinets had worked previously contacted owner Doug Hogue, they wanted to transform their kitchen from its darker, stock look to the lighter, fresher, higher-end look for which his company is known. “We’ve worked within the family for many years, but this was our first time having this particular family member as a client,” Hogue says. “We were really excited to work with them on this transformation.”
As with many of Prestige Cabinets’ projects, this kitchen renovation was a joint project, combining the clients’ hopes with Hogue’s expertise. The goal was to provide a new, upscale look that would last for years to come. “It was a team effort that included both of the sisters who lived locally,” Hogue says. “So, it was very collaborative between us all.”
The project wasn’t without challenges, but was nothing the Prestige Cabinets team couldn’t handle over the eight-week project period. The kitchen was a smaller footprint than what they would typically work in, so the challenge was trying to get everything in their normal kitchen build within the slightly smaller footprint they had to work within. “Another challenge was starting the project on the first snow day of the year,” Hogue says. “But regardless of the weather, we still pushed through what ended up being a snowier winter than usual, starting and finishing on time.”
Hogue knows that the main strength Prestige brings to the table on a project like this is their top-notch team. He’s proud of having a solid team, both in-house and outside resources, to get a project done that meets all expectations. “When we’re working in a client’s home, it’s important that all our team members express a high level of courtesy and friendliness on the job and to the client,” he says. “We want the client to enjoy the process and not be stressed about who’s coming into their home.”
Upon completion, the Williamsburg couple was so pleased with the results that they already want Prestige Cabinets to do more. For Hogue, that’s great news but not the most important thing. “The client satisfaction, that’s always the best feeling in the end!”
