Access to healthcare continues to be a challenge for people in rural communities. One local dentist is making access a cornerstone of her practice. Irina Chandler, DDS, opens her second office located at 216 Jessie DuPont Highway, Burgess, on Monday, September 15, at 7:30am.
“A second Northern Neck location is an opportunity for me and my team to provide a patient-focused, relationship-driven approach to comprehensive dentistry in Lancaster and Northumberland counties,” says Dr. Chandler.
Dr. Chandler established her first office in Warsaw after graduating from the VCU School of Dentistry in 2005. Before dental school, Chandler worked as a nurse after earning her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from VCU’s School of Nursing. The unique combination of nursing and dental education provides skill sets for treating the whole person, not just their teeth.
“I believe that oral health is interconnected with overall health and well-being,” says Chandler.
Originally from Russia, Chandler made the United States her home in 1993. Her practice in Warsaw has provided a solid foundation to expand her services to the new Burgess location. Chandler lives in Westmoreland County with her husband Louis and their children.
The team at Chandler Family Dentistry is composed of hardworking, dedicated, and professional staff, including Melanie and Amanda (office administration), Kathryn (dental hygienist), and Melody (dental assistant).
Although Chandler Family Dentistry is not a participating provider with any dental insurance companies, the office staff is skilled at helping patients maximize their available dental benefits.
